MAINTENANCE TEAM MEMBER

The Skylon Tower is looking for a Maintenance Team Member to join our Maintenance Department.

Reporting to the Shift Engineer Manager, the Maintenance Team Member will be responsible for the on-going maintenance of the building, the building’s systems, and property grounds. This will include conducting minor equipment repairs, painting, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.

Ensure that property is maintained and is safe for guests and employees.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure maintenance/repair services level is maintained to include electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, structural, facilities, ground, and parking areas.
  • Ensure timely response to requests for service by guests, employees, and management to include repair or replacement of all interior fixtures and furnishings.
  • Ensure implementation of ongoing Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Maintain emergency procedures and equipment and assists with the implementation of all emergency procedures for the safety of all guests and employees.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area free of hazards.
  • Ensure that all public areas are clean and orderly, including picking up debris or garbage.
  • Maintain departmental communication.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years ‘hands on’ general institutional or industrial building maintenance experience.
  • Plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical experience a definite asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
